Need advice on downsizing from house to condo in Toronto

Hey everyone, I’m an empty nester looking to move from my house in East York to a smaller condo nearby. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the options! What are some good neighborhoods for downsizing? I've seen some places in Leaside around $2500/month. Is that reasonable? Any tips would be appreciated!
