Why are landlords so out of touch with reality?!

Another rent increase, seriously? Just got hit with a $400 jump in one year! How is anyone supposed to afford this? Not to mention the landlord now wants renters insurance on top of everything?! This market is impossible, I swear it's designed to break us.
