Cabbagetown vibes - worth checking out?

I've been eyeing Cabbagetown for studio apartments lately. It seems like a hidden gem with its beautiful Victorian homes and really cool cafes. Fear it's getting pricier though, anyone know how the rental scene is there now? Is it a good place for a single person?
