What's the deal with Ossington these days?

I've been seriously considering Ossington for my next move, but I've heard some mixed reviews. The nightlife is great, but I wonder if the rent has skyrocketed since all those trendy spots popped up. Anyone living there currently? How's the vibe and safety at night?
