How safe is the Queen West area in Toronto?

I'm considering moving to Queen West, but I've heard mixed reviews about safety. I'm curious about the current crime rates, particularly regarding property crime and any local community initiatives that may be in place to enhance safety. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
