Are pet deposits even legal in Ontario?

So, I'm trying to figure out if a landlord can legally ask for a pet deposit in Ontario. I've heard mixed things about pet fees versus deposits. Are there limits on what they can charge for pets? Like, can they really ask for pet rent as well? Feeling a bit confused here!
