Curious about offering below asking rent in Toronto's soft market

With apartments sitting empty for weeks and no more bidding wars, can I actually negotiate down the rent? It seems like the soft market in 2025 is creating new opportunities for tenants. Is there room to offer less than the asking price without upsetting my landlord?
