Worried about condo special assessment costs for renters

I’ve heard about a special assessment affecting my condo and I’m really worried. Do renters actually have to pay for these condo fees going up? I’m afraid a rent increase because of the assessment might push me to leave my apartment. Is this a common concern among renters?
