Concern about unfair key deposit practices

I recently signed a lease for a two-bedroom apartment, and I’m really worried about the key deposit they charged. It feels pretty steep, and I’ve heard stories of landlords keeping these deposits unfairly even after returning keys in good condition. Has anyone else faced issues like this in Toronto?
