Anyone living in Leslieville? Need advice!

I've been hearing a lot about Leslieville lately. It seems like a great spot for families with all the parks and community vibe, but how's the rental scene? Are schools really as good as they say? And what's the safety like? I want to make sure my kids have a solid environment to grow up in.
