Average Rent Hits $2400 - Can Anyone Afford Toronto Anymore?

Average Toronto 1BR rent has skyrocketed to $2400 this year! I recently lost my apartment because the landlord received 100 applications in just 24 hours. How is anyone supposed to afford this? I’m making $60k but paying 60% of my income on rent. The city feels unlivable now.
