What's the scoop on renting in Leslieville?

I've been eyeing Leslieville for a short-term rental, but I've heard mixed things. I love the vibe with all those cute cafes and shops, but I've also noticed rents are climbing. Is it still worth it compared to nearby Riverside? Anyone found a decent place there lately?
