Average rent hit $2400—how do we afford this?

Just looked at a few 1BR apartments in Toronto and the average rent is now $2400! My salary is $60k, which means I’d be spending over 60% of my income on rent. How is anyone affording rent in Toronto anymore? I feel like I’m trapped in this affordability crisis.
