Who's responsible for heating repairs in Toronto winter?

I'm renting in Toronto and concerned about heating issues as winter approaches. If there's no heat in my unit, what are the landlord's responsibilities? How quickly should they respond? I want to understand my rights as a tenant in case of emergencies.
