Need advice on rent control in my East York apartment

I just moved into a one-bedroom in East York for $1700/month, and I’m confused if it’s rent-controlled since it’s an older building. What should I look for to find out if my unit is covered? Also, any suggestions on keeping costs down during winter heating would be appreciated!
