Should we rent a large apartment to split costs?

Thinking about renting a 3 or 4-bedroom apartment with friends to lower expenses. Is a group house rental practical for professionals? Are larger units cheaper when split among 3 or 4 roommates? Would love advice on finding affordable options in Toronto.
