Choosing Between Condo or Apartment Safety in Toronto?

Hey folks, I'm torn between renting a condo or an apartment in Toronto. How do the neighborhoods stack up in terms of safety? Also, are condos generally better when it comes to building security? I've heard bike theft can be a real issue in some areas, and I want to feel secure, especially at night.
