Upstairs neighbor's late-night noise is unbearable - need solutions

My upstairs neighbor sounds like they're rearranging furniture (or bowling!) at 3am almost every night. I'm exhausted and it’s affecting my sleep. How do you deal with noisy neighbors? What steps can I take to address this without escalating the situation?
