Question about pet deposit legality in Ontario

I'm a bit confused about the rules regarding pet deposits in Ontario. My landlord is mentioning a pet fee, but I’ve heard that pet deposits might be illegal here. What can they actually charge for having a pet? Is pet rent a separate issue? Any clarity would be appreciated!
