Questions about lease terms when relocating in Toronto

I'm considering moving to a new neighborhood in Toronto and have questions about my lease terms. Specifically, how much notice do I need to give my landlord if I decide to break the lease early? Also, are there any circumstances where I won't be penalized? Thanks in advance for any insights!
