Confused About How Anyone Affords Living in Toronto

I'm genuinely baffled by how people can afford to live in Toronto these days. With soaring rents and massive upfront deposits, who can afford this? What income is needed to make it work? Are only the wealthy able to stay here? I'm just struggling to understand how anyone is surviving in this market.
