Need advice on breaking lease due to unexpected job relocation

I just received an unexpected job offer in another city, but I signed a 12-month lease last August. I have 6 months left on my lease, and I'm unsure how to approach my landlord about breaking it. Has anyone been through this? What steps should I take? Looking for any tips or advice!
