Stunned by Shocking Rent Discrepancies in Toronto!

I can't believe the rent prices here! I'm seeing apartments that are 30-50% higher than what I currently pay. Why is rent $800 more for new tenants in the same building? It's mind-boggling to see the turnover rent spike and the old vs new tenant pricing. This market is so confusing!
