Need advice on choosing between a condo and apartment in downtown Toronto

I'm moving to Toronto next month and can't decide whether to rent a condo or an apartment. I'm checking out places in the Distillery District and Kensington Market. I’ve seen some nice condos for around $2500 and apartments for $2200. Are condos worth the extra? What should I keep in mind?
