Curious about pre-con rentals but wary of potential risks

I'm exploring pre-construction condos in Toronto that are pet-friendly, but I have some reservations. How often do construction delays occur, and what risks should I be aware of when renting a unit that's not yet completed? I'd love to hear about others' experiences!
