Dealing with Noise in Toronto Rentals: Any Tips?

I've lived in Toronto for years, seen it all, but noise in rentals now is madness. Anyone else in Liberty Village or Yonge & Eglinton notice thin walls? With prices high, I'm frustrated paying for a sleepless night. How do you cope?
