Separation from partner, need to find solo place fast

I'm going through a separation and urgently need to find a place of my own in Toronto or nearby. My budget is pretty tight, and I'm unsure where to start looking for affordable neighborhoods. Anyone been through something similar? Any advice on navigating this transition would be appreciated!
