Is Ontario pet deposit legal or not? Confused!

I’m looking into studio apartments in Toronto, and I keep hearing about pet fees. My landlord wants a pet deposit, but I thought those were illegal in Ontario. Can anyone clarify what landlords can actually charge for pets? Is it just pet rent or something else? Help!
