Need advice on breaking lease due to job change

I just got a job offer in another city, but I have 8 months left on my lease. I've communicated with my landlord about my situation, but they don't seem open to an early release. Has anyone been through this? What options do I have, and how do I navigate this legally? Any tips would be appreciated!
