Is Spending 60% of My Income on Rent the New Normal in Toronto?

I'm really worried about spending 50-70% of my income on rent. Is this common in Toronto? It feels unsustainable and like my rent is eating my paycheck. How do others manage? Is there a way out, or is this just the reality for renters these days?
