Frustrated with Bidding Wars for Short-Term Rentals in Toronto

What is going on with these rental bidding wars? I keep losing apartments to higher offers and I'm not sure how much to bid in these sealed requests. It's so frustrating! I need a place for 3-6 months but every listing feels like a fight to the finish. Anyone else feeling this pain?
