Toronto Housing: Why So Expensive Compared to Other Cities?

I’m an Empty Nester, and I can't believe how pricey Toronto housing has become! NYC is cheaper than Toronto? Really? Even Vancouver doesn't compare. It makes no sense that we're paying so much for condos while other cities offer more space for less. What justifies these insane prices?
