Rents keep going up – how is this even possible?!

Another rent increase, seriously?! I just found out my landlord wants $2800 for a dingy bachelor pad! How is anyone supposed to afford this? I keep getting outbid on every decent place I see, and I'm just so sick of this ridiculous market! It's exhausting.
