Need advice on breaking lease due to job transfer in winter

I just received a job offer in another city, but I have 6 months left on my lease here in Toronto. I've discussed with my landlord, but they seem reluctant to let me break it. I'm hoping for advice on my rights and best next steps. Has anyone been through this? Thanks!
