Confused about Subletting Rights in Toronto - Help!

I’m really unsure about my landlord denying my sublet request. I thought renting out my 1-bedroom place was allowed under the Residential Tenancies Act. Can they really stop me from subletting or using platforms like Airbnb? What are my rights here? This is so confusing!
