Snowstorm moving day chaos: lessons learned

Worst moving day ever! We decided to downsize to a condo in January, only to wake up to a full-blown snowstorm. Our moving truck got stuck on a hill, and we had to dig it out for hours. Anyone else survive a winter move? How do you manage unexpected weather like this?
