What’s the deal with Brampton's rentals these days?

I've been eyeing Brampton lately – it seems like prices are more reasonable than in downtown Toronto. Anyone have insights on neighborhood safety or local amenities? Do you think it's worth considering for a tight budget? I've also noticed some newer places popping up that are still affordable.
