Moved in a snowstorm - what a nightmare!

Worst moving day ever: I rented a truck only to wake up to a major snowstorm. Visibility was terrible, and the truck got stuck multiple times in snowbanks. Now I'm left wondering how to avoid this in the future. Has anyone else had to move in bad weather? What's your advice?
