Subletting Rights Confusion - Need Clarity!

Hey everyone, I'm a bit lost when it comes to subletting in Toronto. My landlord just denied my request to sublet, but I'm not sure if they can legally do that? Is there a specific process for subletting I should know about? Also, any thoughts on how Airbnb regulations might impact this? Thanks!
