Navigating Rent and Fees as a Newcomer

As a newcomer to Toronto, I'm a bit confused about the rental system here. Does the rent advertised include taxes, or are there additional fees I need to be aware of? It’s overwhelming trying to figure out the total monthly cost, especially with no local credit history to support me.
