Thoughts on renting a larger apartment with friends?

I'm looking into renting a 3+ bedroom apartment with friends in Toronto to share costs. Has anyone found good deals on group house rentals or 4 bedroom splits? I'm curious if splitting a larger place is cheaper than individual apartments. Any insights or average rent prices would be appreciated!
