Weather chaos: Moved in a snowstorm and the truck got stuck

Worst moving day ever! We picked a February weekend, thinking it would be fine, but a snowstorm hit. The moving truck got stuck in a snowbank, and we ended up unloading boxes on a slippery street! Anyone have tips for making a winter move less chaotic?
