Adviser needed on lease termination after job relocation

I just received a job offer in a new city but have 8 months remaining on my lease. I’ve talked to my landlord, who is unwilling to budge on the lease terms. Has anyone been through this? What options do I have without losing a lot of money? I'm worried about penalties and fees.
