Can I negotiate rent in Toronto's soft market of 2025?

With more apartments sitting empty and no more bidding wars, I'm wondering if I can offer less than the asking rent. Is it realistic to think landlords might be open to negotiating down, given the current conditions? Looking forward to hearing others' experiences!
