Reality check about a 15% rent increase - is this legal?

I just moved into a new apartment and my landlord mentioned a 15% rent increase starting next month. I've read that there are rules about how much rent can be raised in Ontario, but I'm not sure if this is standard practice. Should I be worried or is this normal?
