Ideal Apartment Size for Work from Home?

I'm considering a one-bedroom apartment in Toronto for WFH. How much space is enough? Is a dedicated office necessary, or can I make do with a shared space? I worry that a studio might feel too cramped. Would 500 sqft provide enough room for productivity?
