Help me decide between King West and Parkdale - talk me into one!

I'm relocating to Toronto and torn between a $2,500/month 1BR in King West and a $2,200/month 1BR in Parkdale. King West has nightlife and conveniences, but feels overcrowded. Parkdale has a laid-back vibe and community, but I'm unsure about the commute. I need some guidance to finalize this!
