Average Toronto 1BR rent hit $2400 - this is unsustainable

I just can't wrap my head around this. Rents in Toronto have skyrocketed, with the average 1BR now at $2400! It's insane to think I was paying $1800 just last year. How is anyone affording these prices? It's putting so much stress on working professionals like myself who just want to live here.
