Landlord wants 2 months pet deposit - is this standard?

I’m currently renting with my cat and my landlord is asking for a pet deposit that’s two months' rent. I’ve never dealt with pet deposits before, so I’m wondering if this is normal. Should I be concerned, or is this just how it goes with pet-friendly rentals?
