Need help deciding between a condo or apartment in Downtown Toronto

I'm moving to Toronto in a few months and trying to decide between renting a condo or an apartment in places like Kensington Market or Corktown. I've heard condos might be more modern but apartments could offer more space for the price. What are the pros and cons? Any specific recommendations?
